Mr. Ridgeway has
gained extensive experience in his career in the public and private
sector. His areas of expertise are orientated towards signal design,
pavement marking and signing plans, traffic calming, traffic impact
analysis, and corridor studies. The following is a brief listing of
some of Mr. Ridgeway’s past projects and expertise.

Traffic Operations and Impact Studies -
Responsible for completion of numerous studies for both private and
public developments; duties include inventory, surveys, operational
analysis, traffic modeling, traffic signal(s), roadway improvement
assessment, conceptual design and public hearing support. Projects
include large scale mixed-use developments, industrial parks,
residential, retail malls, public and private schools, commercial, etc.

Municipal traffic Engineering
– Prior to joining the private sector with Wilbur Smith
Associates in 2001, Mr. Ridgeway served as the Acting City Traffic
Engineer for the City of Greenville, SC. Responsibilities in this
position included supervision of 18 staff members with an annual budget
of approximately $2 million.

signals on City system and managed Signal system upgrade

Reviewed all proposed site site plans with regards
to access, and parking, and circulation. |

Managed the City’s Traffic Calming Program |

Oversaw traffic elements of major projects
including Western Corridor, and I-385 Widening. |
Traffic calming – As Acting City Traffic
Engineer for Greenville, South Carolina, Mr. Ridgeway managed numerous
traffic calming projects. Each project involved public meetings with
the neighborhood in which a traffic calming plan was devised and voted
on by the entire neighborhood. If voted in, the projects moved to the
design phase and then construction. Traffic calming tools that were
designed and implemented included speed humps (permanent and portable),
traffic circles (roundabouts), street closures, raised islands, and
all-way STOPS (if warranted by the MUTCD). Projects were completed in
the following neighborhoods.
